The Chariot of Arjuna on the Battlefield of Kurukshetra. Designed and painted for Sacred Web by Nigel Jackson (copyright, 2025).

Published in Winter 2025, Volume 53 of Sacred Web brings together essays, memoir, reviews, and poetry rooted in traditional metaphysics, with a particular emphasis on peace, meaning, and spiritual coherence in a time of civilizational disorder. The volume explores sacred symbolism and iconography, Qur’anic and Buddhist understandings of peace, questions of conscience, gender, and initiation within religious traditions, and the search for meaning amid post-human and post-traditional conditions. It also features autobiographical reflections by Charles Upton, critical engagements with recent and classic works on spirituality and religion, and a selection of poetry meditating on memory, mortality, and the sacred, situating contemporary concerns within a perennial spiritual ethic.
